What We Believe

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Word, written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. It is inspired by God and without error in the original documents. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 12:6, 119:105,160)

God

There is only one true God, who exists eternally in three co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Deut. 6:4; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus Christ

Jesus has always existed as God and took on a human body without ceasing to be God. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless human life, and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will return again to earth to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. (Matthew 1:23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-3, 14; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13; 1 Peter 2:24)

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is God, equal with the Father and the Son. He is active in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation, provides the believer with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, gifts to serve Him, and guidance in doing what is right. (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 14:16-18, 16:7-13: Acts 1:8, 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13, 4:8-12; Galatians 5:25; 1 Peter 4:10)

Salvation

When Adam disobeyed God, fellowship between God and man was broken. Every person has been born with a sin nature and needs a Savior to restore the relationship with God. Because God loves everyone, He offers salvation as a free gift. It is given by His grace (not earned by human effort) and the gift of salvation can be received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose blood was shed for the forgiveness of sins. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his or her life by faith. (John 1:12, 3:16-17, 14:6; Romans 3:23, 5:1, 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Timothy 2:4, Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; 2 Peter 3:9)

Eternity

People were created with a soul that exists forever. A person will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence. (John 3:16; 1 John 2:25; 1 John 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 25:31-46)

We also believe

God loves everyone, including those who do not believe in Him.

Christians should always be respectful. loving, and kind to those with differing beliefs.
